So I just saw a PC and mac commercial in which PC was counting money and dividing them in two piles:
- something I couldn't decipher along the lines of "quality improvement"
- an enourmous pile of "advertisement money"

wtf?

So let's start on things that piss me off.
Firstly by saying "PC" Apple obviously means Microsoft. Even though PC is a collaboration of thousands of companies in which Microsoft doesn't take up even 10%, the advertisement obviously means "Windows". Given that, I don't know about you, but I've started seeing Vista ads only recently and very rarely, while the Apple ads are everywhere. So inside an Apple ad, they have a PC spending money on advertisement. I thought they couldn't get more pathetic, but they've managed to.

Second thing that pisses me off about it is how Apple pretends to hip in these commercials. Well, everywhere to. How they pretend to be hip, liberal, unique, artsy. Apple is a monolith of a corporation, which does not allow for customizability or any sort of freedom in their products. Artsy? Hip? Unique? Do you have an iPod? Yes you do. Every one does, that's not unique.
PC on the other hand is a grand number of Windows and *nix compatible software and equipment. SInce the commercial explicitly states "PC" not "Windows" or "Microsoft" I'd like to look at it as at a PC. You can do anything you want with it.

Old words, new music

My computer broke, and the old one doesn't have that good of a music player (everything glitches on it like hell), soI'm forced not to use my usual 2000 song in one playlist on shuffle method, but to actually listen to music album by album and I've realised I don't tend to completely love anything just because I'd love the lyrics on older albums and the sound on the newer ones. It would be hard to find a popular example of that, but let me see... Foo Fighters is a good one: I like their older lyrics, but newer sound. Iron Maiden is also a good example or, say, Metallica and Audioslave. They've got great lyrics on the first albums, but as they got richer, older and more famous they naturally bought better equipment, but ran out of the stuff to write about.

Which makes me wonder about the "best of" CDs. Which actually makes me seriously doubt the "best of" CDs. If you prodeuced enough music for a best of CD (which I doubt with most bands in the first place) can't you spend some time in the studio re-recording tracks? We already own your old stuff anyway, give it a new feel, maybe? And let us decide which sounds better.

This isn't a great example, because it's in German, but it shows what I mean in a way. Just my word for it: lyrics are good, and listen to the music. I think the newer version is more plausible.

Today was a strange day, a strange day indeed. Mostly because I've realized that Valentine's is the bane of my existence in a way that I've never been in a relationship on Valentine's day, except for last year. So, the whole pinkheartshapedloveydoveyteddybear energy is wasted on me.

I still had tonns of fun doing the mock marriage, though. It was very elaborate, I even had a groom's maid.
First me and Jordan got hitched. Jordan said his vow and put a ring on my finger, I said mine and put the ring on his finger, then the love of my life (lol) gave me a kiss on the cheek. That's how it was for us at least and what I found weird that after all three couples were done, the "priest" again said to kiss your... um... loved one? O.o
Basically me and Jordan had to kiss three fucking times for the goddamn camera because no one could take a fucking picture of it. Not that it was bad, just sort of awkward... doesn't he have a boyfriend?

It really annoys me how people all over the net bash and blame Vista for all theproblems of humanity, yet... keep using it? It annoys me how they say that XP is the shit and Vista sucks, yet they forget that they (those same people) have been pretty much blaming XPfor holocoast years ago, while praysing Win2000 and before that pushing 2000 into dirt and saying that Win'98 cures cancer. Really, what the fuck? If you hate Vista so much, why keep using it? Is it seriously some sort of a fad? Like we can't admit to ourselves that Vista is actually pretty good, but keep hating on it because it's the thing to do? You hate Vista so much, uninstall it and get XP back up. Or admit that yeah it has some glitche that are going to get fixed in a couple of service packs and clam your ass down.

Seriously, do any of you, obnoxious little bastards remember ANYTHING like that happening to XP which you think is the bext system ever? Or 2000? Or '98? Or just Windows in genral?
